Little Bags of Comfort

Over the course of my many trips across the country, I have gathered up a pretty large collection of little shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and personal care products. One day, I looked down at my accumulation, and it seemed excessive - and a little packrat-ish, if you will. So I decided to give them all away to the women's homeless shelter in Nashville.

I've been collecting other pick-me-ups to round out these little bags of comfort, and I'd love any donations you can spare! I'm collecting:
shampoo
conditioner
lotion
face wash
body wash
socks
tea bags
scarves
chapstick
granola bars

The best form of exercise is...

Laughing! This Thanksgiving was full of good times, great food, and, of course, wonderful quality time spent with the family. Here's to the kid clown (aka Meg) making everyone but the kid say cheese!

Cookie Monster

Sharing some molasses cookies with my nephews at the park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

This photo might be my favorite...he was on the run, so it's slightly out of focus, but I love it anyway.

I ran into Dan of Augustana just the other day, which reminded me of the last time I had seen him back in '08 when we did this interview and photo shoot. He's still just as nice and likable as ever, and great news for Augustana fans - word is they are back in the studio working on their next album!

Miami Art Deco Photographs

When visiting a friend in Miami Beach last weekend, we headed out with our cameras to self-guide ourselves along the art deco tour. We faced a 105 degree heat index, but it was definitely worth it!

Chatting with Brooke White

Part of this photo shoot took place in a fantastic field filled with yellow wildflowers - it was complete sunny California perfection! Plus interviewing Brooke was so much fun - her energy is simply infectious!

Interviewing Sarah McLachlan

I had such a wonderful time interviewing Sarah for this All Access 360 video...she's so down to earth and impossible not to like!

Beauty everywhere

I always find it amazing how different things can look through the camera lens. In the case of these flowers, they are much prettier when focused on individually than when looked upon as a cluster on the ground or in a bush. I also thought the white and pink flowers looked like an impressionist painting when the wind was blowing, so I slowed down my shutter speed, et voila, Monet. :)

My new resume

I finally had some time today to sit down and update my resume. This new design makes my old resume look so 2002...

North Carolina flowers after the rain

This was my first chance to play with my new Nikon, and I just got lucky with the weather that left perfect raindrops on the flowers and gave me a natural softbox.
